Maybe you can use the template switcher mod, so the user can switch all the templates without login

Good idea - done now. It's the first time I've installed the Style Switcher Mod actually - very nice!

Or one of you could make a mod for the mod which adds the little bit for the switcher drop down, if so desired.

Huh? You mean just add the drop down to all of the templates? If that's what you mean, I have done...

Cool ... when these are all upgraded again, I'll have to add the style switcher mod, as well as all the templates ... of course, I may now have to double the number of templates on which to add the extras from all the various mods to.

Cool stuff!

Regarding separating the posts with a little colour: I've had a different idea - how about if I do it similar to how it is on YaBBForum? Check out the Red Noir template to see what I mean - I personally prefer it far more than the horizontal rule...

Oddly, I would have thought that would have been way too much color, and yet, it seems to work.

And the red template seems to be the brightest, boldest one, so if it doesn't seem like too much color there, it shouldn't feel overwhelming on any of the others, either.

So it still works for me ... perhaps even better than the previous version.

Do you think it's far too similar to the display area of the YaBB template though? I don't want it to seem like I've ripped off someone else's idea, I just can't think of another way to do it...

And... the red is red isn't it? Does it ever look pink to you?

Colours look far better on my Mac, and when I check them on my PC they can look a bit bright. Maybe it's just my monitor...

They seem very bright, but always red, never pink.

That was why I thought the larger color area would be overwhelming, but it worked for me.

Nah ... yours is a simple bar of color, YaBBs feels like it is more involved. It doesn't seem all that similar to me ... but again, YMMV.

That's good - I was worried for a minute there.

Cool. If you're happy with it then, I'll stick with it this way. I'll get onto it...

Okay, that's done now. I've attached a new Zip to the first post.

If anyone has already installed the template and wants to make the changes, you only need to re-upload Display.template.

Oops! I made a really stupid styling error if collapsable boards was enabled. Fixed now - new zip attached to first post.

The changes are in the CSS file and BoardIndex.template

Sorry! Embarrassed

I've got a strange feeling that I've just repeated myself. Undecided Smiley

I've updated the first post for each of the 'Spectral Noir' templates and added a separate zip package for anyone using Carsten's CSS Buttons Mod. See the first post to see what you need to do...

Thanks for the Noir series Derek, they're great.
There is a problem with them in Internet Explorer, unsure if you can do anything about it though.

In collapsed mode the bars loose two sections, see attachment.

I'm using IE7 & IE8 on two machines, there's no problem for me in FF & Google Chrome. Unfortunately 40% of my members use IE.

Hi Tony,

Oh buggers! Can you try this for me please and see if it fixes it - In BoardIndex.template find:

Code:
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" class="bordercolor">
<tr>
<td class="titlecorner">&nbsp;</td>

And add the highlighted:

Code:
<table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="100%" class="bordercolor" style="table-layout: fixed;">
<tr>
<td class="titlecorner">&nbsp;</td>

Actually, I've made the change to the PurpleNoir template on my demo's board, so you should be able to see if it's fixed it from looking at that...

Okay, that's fixed now - I've attached a new zip package to the first post of all the templates. Thanks again for pointing it out Tony!
