MySpace/Facebook in profile

Shay King (Xavier) has given me permission to update his Mod. I had to change a few things, so I hope it works correctly. I've had no issues with a fresh install of YaBB 2.2.3, but if other Mods are installed then it may have to be installed manually.

Link to the original version:
http://www.boardmod.org/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=beta_y2;action=display;num=1151390721...

Description:
Adds MySpace/Facebook address info and clickable links to the user profile.

Derek, i hope u don't mind that ive edited your/Xavier's mod to Hyves instead of MySpace.

Hyves is a popular site in Holland, like Facebook.

Added Dutch & English translation. Enjoy Smiley

That's absolutely fine. I asked him if it was alright to use it for other websites apart from MySpace and he said it was.

Thanks

Excellent! I've been waiting for this mod again.

Question.. Any chance we could see this for Facebook as well? I'm sure it all it would be is the same code with the words myspace substituted with Facebook and a Facebook button but I can't write code.

Give me a day or two and I'll add one for Facebook to the package. But, the amount of websites you could do this for is endless, so if anybody wants this for other websites in the future I'll just post the code up that needs changing.

One Thing, becaus me and my users make the same mistake. In the Profile its written that way, as if you should also enter http://..., but in fact, you should only enter your myspace name.

This should be changed i think...

Erm, yes, it is rather confusing. From what I read in the original version, the URL is set for security reasons, otherwise you could enter any website address.

Before I change anything, could I just ask what you suggest... Do you think just change the language/information on the left?

Or I was thinking maybe something like this:

...

But that is going to make the form rather ugly...

What do you think?

That's definitely less confusing. Whoever originally wrote this mod I believe for 2.1 I asked how to do this exact same thing and he told me where to edit the code to add the full URL. I was running into people putting the full URL in and nobody's myspace buttons/links were working since there were 2 addresses. This would definitely save the confusion

Ok, I'll update that when I add Facebook then...

About Facebook... Do you know if all Facebook profiles begin with http://facebook.com/ the same as MySpace?

Right, I've added Facebook and updated the first post.
Either install MySpace OR Facebook. If you want to install them both, then use the MyNetworks Mod.

One thing that might cause a problem is sometimes Facebook uses other applications and can have a sudomain like:

Code:
http://apps.facebook.com/blahblahblah

Any problems, let me know.
