why editing the display.template? no need. and not supposed too..
just upload the files in like directories...Then in Admin center>>> Forum Layout>>> template configuration...select black in all selections..save as black and our done...template is then selectable..

driven ... ,may I make a small suggestion ... personally I love this one and the reddy-red ... and I can see some confusion with how you template gods are naming the new templates.. old Y2.1 and before it didn't make a difference .. but can see some might over look an important difference ... a TaB Template or Button Template .. So adding Tabbed Green, TaBBed Black, Tabbed Red .. would instantly id the difference ..  Just a thought for the Gods !  Great work. (all of you)

I've never installed a mod or a theme of any kind for my YaBB board... until now.  And I wish I had left well enough alone.

My forum worked fine; I followed all the instructions from the YaBB forum, and installed this theme.   My forum appeared to still be working.  I used the admin panel to change from the default them to this one...

And the forum died.   I had the tech support people at National Net try to help me... 3 professional techs came up with this:

Code:
admin to customer, from w.slocumb - 12/25/2007 22:08:49 (thebruke@gmail.com) Hi,

Here is the specific error message from apache:

Can't locate /web/sites/brukenet/bruke.net/yabb2/Variables/Menublack.def in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.4 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.4 . ./Modules ./Modules/Upload ./Modules/Digest) at /web/sites/brukenet/bruke.net/yabb2/Languages/English/Menu.lng line 103.
Compilation failed in require at /web/sites/brukenet/bruke.net/yabb2/Sources/Subs.pl line 1452.
[Tue Dec 25 22:07:53 2007] [error] [client 71.205.67.225] Premature end of script headers: /web/sites/brukenet/bruke.net/yabb2/AdminIndex.pl

It cannot locate the file /web/sites/brukenet/bruke.net/yabb2/Variables/Menublack.def and that is causing the internal server error. Do you have a copy of this file?

Thanks
William

I've looked everywhere, and I can't find this Menublack.def file; it's not in the download.

Please help,

Bruke

I take that back, I was able to fix it myself...

I downloaded Menu2.def from the Variables directory, opened it with a text editor, then saved it as Menublack.def and uploaded it to the Variables directory... then I logged into my forum and everything worked just fine...

I don't understand why I had to do this, but at least it's working again.

I dont know why you would have to do that either...menu.def files tell yabb what buttons lead to where.... nothing to do with what template is used

I just installed several templates and was wondering, why yours was the only one not working.

Solution: black.cfg was missing

Why did the others dont have this problem i am wondering ?

No copyright message included....Fix please as it looks great.

Sounds like you corrupted the files, when you uploaded ... these template files should be uploaded as AscII ....
Have you even confiqured the Template Configuration in the Admin Center for the black yet ?
The solution would be to upload the files again... making absolutely sure you use AscII mode of transfer.

Your right,  I  messed up in the template html....or something, but the problem went away when I reinstalled the whole thing.
The Black template  worked perfectly, and it's real nice.
Thanks for your reply and all your  hard work in making this stuff.
