Hi Cartsen,

Looks great! How many links can the board handle without slowing down.

Best,

Hahahaha, that should explain why he took a long coding break on the Y2 project.... allthough..... naahhh, Carsten just deserved the rest after suffering of coders burnout doing so much work on Y2.

And for what it is worth.... if there is one guy that (like Michael Shumacher) deserves to prolong his title it is Carsten.

What would be really cool is to make it work not only with whole words, IE...

Say I have a link already posted...

http://www.play.com/music/item/234463434/item ETC...

I'd like to be able to do this....

http://www.play.com/ replace with http://playcom.at/tnms etc

Currently that doesn't work, that I know of.

Not sure i understand this correctly - do you want the url as a label on mouse over? If so do this:

In the modded Load.pl find:
Code:
		if($tmptarget) {
$htmpc = qq~<a href="$htmpb" target="_blank">$hfont1~;
$htmpc2 = qq~$hfont2</a>~;
}
else {
$htmpc = qq~<a href="$htmpb">$hfont1~;
$htmpc2 = qq~$hfont2</a>~;
}

and replace it with:
Code:

if($tmptarget) {
$htmpc = qq~<a href="$htmpb" target="_blank" title="$htmpb">$hfont1~;
$htmpc2 = qq~$hfont2</a>~;
}
else {
$htmpc = qq~<a href="$htmpb" title="$htmpb">$hfont1~;
$htmpc2 = qq~$hfont2</a>~;
}

Hi Carsten

For Example

Link: http://www.grafix-world.nl
Linkname: GrafiX World
Description label: a Support Forum

That's due to the different way IE and FF handles css sub-styles and inline styles. In FF only the "base" 'a' css is overwritten by the inline style - not the 'a.hover' style.

Hoi,
look there:

http://www.info4alien.de/cgi-bin/forum/YaBB.cgi?num=1158181365

There is no mousover at "ABH". If I delete
the Code:
[img] [/img]

in the text before, everything is ok.

Question for those of you running this mod.  Is anyone experiencing a problem viewing avatar images in the private messages?  Just trying to isolate the cause.  Checking all the mods that alter InstantMessage.pl.

I installed this mod and everything went just fine.  It all seems to be working properly.

I noticed that i was unable to add more than one hotlink?

I also cannot find the hot link that I added anywhere in my board?

Any idea what I may have done wrong?  Where is this hot link supposed to be located at in my board?

[dummyEdit]  Never mind.  Tongue GrinI figured it out.  [/dummyEdit]

The hot links work similar to what you might see on wikipedia ... where certain words in an entry are hyperlinked to take you to other wikipedia entries.

Whenever anyone uses the word or phrase you indicated in your hot link entry, it will automatically be hyperlinked.

One thing I noticed about this is that I cannot edit entries.  I can bring them up to display, but I can't change any of the information contained.  If I want to change a hot link, I have to delete it and make it from scratch.

Not true - only thing you can't change is the "Hotlink text" and that's how it's intended to be. Selecting a hotlink to be edited allows you to edit the properties for that specific "Hotlink text" - not the "Hotlink text" itself.

Has anyone tried this on 2.2.1 yet? I just upgraded my forums last week and we really miss this mod. We use a ton of acronyms, and so the hotlink feature would show the full description of the acronym (when you hover over it), and then link you to a page showing a full mechanical breakdown of the part/system described by the acronym.

well, I went into boardmod and used the editor to DELETE the action to edit the instantmessage file, saved it, then let boardmod install it, and.......

..... It appears to work in 2.2.1!
