Need a FAQ script but already have a YaBB board installed? No problem with this mod you can turn one of your boards into a FAQ page.
I wrote this mod based on News Script Mod. :lickin:

Sample Page is here.
-type 0(Output Questions and Answers in same page.)
http://www.yabb-j.f2s.com/yabbs/YaBB.pl?board=bm_faq&action=faq&type=0

-type 1(Output Questions and Answers in another page.)
http://www.yabb-j.f2s.com/yabbs/YaBB.pl?board=bm_faq&action=faq&type=1

1.0      japanese edition only
1.1      japanese edition only
1.2      first release in english

Yes.
It's very simple. Smiley

Question = Subject
Answer = Message

All replies are disregarded on FAQ mod.

*dumb question*  Why do we need a FAQs mod which makes the topic = question and text = answer, if we can simply create a board and add the info in regular into the topic and text?

I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything, but if there is something I am missing, please inform me!

Thanks.

Is it possible for me to create more than one FAQ using this mod? And is anyone attempting to make this mod for SP1?

Yes, you could have multiple faqs, and any board could conceivably be a faq, so long as the q&a correspondence of subject&body, respectively, were maintained.

Of course the mod would operate even you didn't have q&a, or some kind of subject & info correspondence, but it would be weird.

THE BIG PROBLEM with the faq mod is there is no way to reorder the questions (numerically or alphabetically) and the newest ones are always on top.  So, what are likely your most important questions slowly get pushed down to the bottom.  Even making a faq question sticky only affects the YaBB view, and the question is still wherever it was when you view as faq.

If you want to see a faq, you can Try the one on my board for bonsai, but IMHO, I don't think I would bother installing it again unless there was some sort of thread organization method.

Regards,

Matt

Thanks, I did finally figure it all out! Lack of sleep and code fading in and out seems to have been my big problem. I will never attempt to work on my board when I am exhausted.

Yes I agree! This is a geat mod BUT it needs to be updated so that we have more control over the 'FAQ' and how they are listed. We need to be able to reorder and move them around. Maybe even change the font or things like that. Otherwise a great mod  8)

Worlds easiest mod to install !  Grin

Worlds hardest mod to configure!  Sad

The http://www.yabb-j.f2s.com/yabbs/YaBB.pl?board=bm_faq&action=faq&type=0 ; link does not work.

A few HTML Example Pages would be nice - to see how to set them up.

I can't tell.  If that link were correct, I would expect to be able to reach your forum from

http://www.yabb-j.f2s.com/yabbs/YaBB.pl

But I can't.
