Hello all,

Let me first say that I was dropped into setting up a dedicated server with remote desktop about a week and a half ago.. :?

Not to bad tho..

After Apache, FTP, Perl, SquirrelMail, and PHP, The easiest setup by far was HmailServer.. It really is a fantastic program with an incredible ease of setup and use.

I have a question regarding where a program sends outgoing mail.

I am installing YABB (yet Another Bulletin Board), That uses Perl as the primary language.

I am stumped at one part of the configuration where YABB sends out an email to new users. The email is a welcome messege and the users login/password.

The part in question of the YABB configuration is -
CODE: SELECT ALL
$mailprog = "/usr/sbin/sendmail"; # Location of your sendmail program
$smtp_server = "smtp.my_domain.com"; # Address of your SMTP-Server
$webmaster_email = q^webmaster@My_domain.com^; # Your email address. (eg: $webmaster_email = q^admin@host.com^Wink
$mailtype = 0; # Mail program to use: 0 = sendmail, 1 = SMTP, 2 = Net::SMTP

I have no idea what the values should be, as there is no where to insert a username/password of an hmailserver account to use with the smtp server.

I should also mention that I have a full domain/mx record.

Any ideas what I need to enter for the above values?

I didn't find the right solution from the internet.

This type of question would be best posted to YaBBForum.com.
