Hi Smiley

This mod works great for us except one problem that just came up yesterday.  I tried to post a video with the .mov extention, and all that shows up is the big blue Q - Quicktime Logo.  Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks Smiley

should the ubcc.js file be uploaded to /yabbfiles/Templates ? or should it be uploaded to just yabbfiles, where the other fader.js yabbc.js post.js and ubcc.js files are?

Apple QuickTime player needs to be installed on your PC or you get the famous logo Wink

If you have an unmodded board it is OK to upload yabbc.js (the one in the zip) in yabbfiles/templates over the existing one, if you have modified board where yabbc.js could already be modified you should follow the instructions a few pages back how to change your existing yabbc.js to make the media button work.

Is there anyway of modifying the files so that videos from youtube.co.uk or youtube.it work? At the moment it won't let me embed videos from the regional sites.

In quick reply box i have the correct media.gif but it does not work?  It returns error on page?

Thanks for such great support from everybody especially the mod writer and jet!  I was able to re-read enough to get every single feature working perfect in every single post box...thanx guys!  p.s. this mod rocks! Thumbs Upsup:

Media Center is standard (and more enhanced) in YaBB2.2 and compatible with the current mod code so a painless upgrade as far as this mod is concerned Wink

Hi, can anyone help, this is basically the problem:

I have installed the media center mod and it only seems to works with youtube videos. What's more, when I do post another video it just reposts the same youtube video of the previous post.

You see this is the url to the video I'm trying to post:

But it doesn't show the preview, and it also just posts the previous video which has a completely different url:

This is the url to the David Bowie video which is the first video posted:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=30AVhf-ZLwM

And this is the url to the Justin Timberlake video which should be the second video posted:

http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?id=1518072&vid=157491

But it just reposts the first video (The David Bowie one)

Embed Flash Vars string
Reply #220 - Sep 12th, 2007 at 2:40pm

Hi,

I have a flash audio player that calls variables from xml.
I have added a string that checks the media url, and if that matches, it calls a different flash sub to embed.

so I've added in mediacenter.pl
Code
Select All
} elsif ($media_url =~ m/.swf$/i){
		$video = $embed_flash;
	} elsif ($media_url =~ m/youtube\.com/i){
		$media_url =~ s~watch\?v\=~v\/~g;
		$video = $embed_flash;
    } elsif ($media_url = ~ m/somesite\.com/i){
	  $video = $embed_flashplayer;

and added a flash player sub below the one that exists:
Code
Select All
$embed_flashplayer = qq~
	<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"
	codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,0,0"
	width="300"
	height="315">
		<param name='movie' value="http://www.somesite.com//player.swf">
		<param name='flashVars' value="fp_root_url=http://www.somesite.com//&ovr_color=0xBDA88A&ovr_langage=en&ovr_playlist=vol-2&ovr_author=all&ovr_order=CONCAT(playlist_music)&ovr_order_direction=ASC&ovr_autoplay=0&ovr_loop_playlist=0&ovr_loop_tracks=0&ovr_shuffle=0">
		<param name='menu' value="false">
		<param name='quality' value="best">
		<param name='wmode' value="transparent">
		<param name='bgcolor' value="#383838">
	    <embed src="http://www.somesite.com/player.swf"
		 flashVars="fp_root_url=http://www.some.com/&ovr_color=0xBDA88A&ovr_langage=en&ovr_playlist=vol-2&ovr_author=all&ovr_order=CONCAT(playlist_music)&ovr_order_direction=ASC&ovr_autoplay=0&ovr_loop_playlist=0&ovr_loop_tracks=0&ovr_shuffle=0"
	    menu="false"
		quality="best"
		wmode="transparent"
		bgcolor="#383838"
		width="300"
		height="315"
		type="application/x-shockwave-flash"	pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">
	</embed>
</object>
~;

At the page I entered .

Now everything works just fine, but I need to add another player with different vars, so I did exactly as above to add another routine, and no matter what I do, the same movie with same variables are called. why? can anyone help?

This is not a fix, but rather a workaround, and should be handled with care.

As the code checks what format is the media file (swf, ra,mov etc), I just invented new formats and direct each format to another embed routine.

So now in addition to:
Code
Select All
} elsif ($media_url =~ m/.swf$/i){
		$video = $embed_flash;

I have:
Code
Select All
} elsif ($media_url =~ m/.swf$/i){
		$video = $embed_flash;
    } elsif ($media_url =~ m/.player2$/i){
		$video = $embed_flashplayer2;

and in the forum i'll just put this code:
Code
Select All
[media]http://www.domain.com/player.player2[/media]

you can then add .player3, .player4 and so on...

Just a quick question...

Great mod, my members love it.

It would be great if it was possible to show how many times a video had been viewed (play clicked).  I cannot see immediately an easy way this could be done?  Is it just a pie in the sky suggestion that could not come to fruitility because it simply is not possible!?!
