Last Login for SP1.1
Oct 22nd, 2002 at 3:54pm
Print Post
The last Login mod V1.3 was made for SP1. This version, V1.4, is made to work with SP1.1. Most of the changes were made to accomodate the differences between the two versions so that Boardmod could be used. The code is the same as written by the author of V1.3, Monty Burns.

Please provide feedback if you have problems with this mod update.

Has anybody tried this in 1.3 ...

I find it helpful to sometimes check when a member last logged in.

The mod will not work with Yabb V1.3. I have attached an updated version for use with V1.3 which can be used with Board Mod.

Christer is quite correct. It adds a line to the Profile of a member and displays the time and date of the last login.

This mod was developed by Monty Burns. My interest in keeping it current is that I use some of the code in a Last Visit mod. The Last Login mod records when a person last logged in - if they always stay logged in the date will not change.
The Last Visit mod records each visit to the forum.

Oh ... all right ... its probably something along the lines of the last visit mod that I would be interested in, then ... my mistake!

Is that a released mod, and if so, in 1.3?

(Hey, I'm sorry to always be asking, these days, but so far I've only got 6 of the 60+ mods which my board will need ... and some have to wait on ones that haven't been redone yet, like a couple of dOCas and Dave's attachments ... long way to go, still!)

Works nicely so far. Nice job!

The only problem I have with it is the HTML messes up my admin center "Forum Preferences & Settings". I can still go into the Settiings.pl and set the value but it would be nice to have the admin center correct.

All in all, a very cool mod.

From the txt file included with the mod:

Quote:
3) This MOD creates a "Last Login Settings" section in the Settings.pl file.
This variable is used to specify what line in the <username>.dat file
that the last login info is to be written to. I've done it this way to
make it as compatible as possible with any other mods that may be installed
that alter the <username>.dat file. Please note, the DEFAULT file size when
YaBB is first installed requires that this number is GREATER that 20.

Can someone explain this? - Thanks.

Yes: the average username.dat is an ASCII text file which looks a little like this:

Code
Select All
passwd
Display Name
email
webpage title
webpage address
signature
postcount
position

gender....
other details
etc.

now by default (with this variable set to 20) the mod will write the last online time to the next available line (which is line 20) of the persons profile.
which is dandy... until you use another mod which has been designed to write some other detail (like a popularity rating, or soemthing like that) on that line- the mods will write incompat data over each others' on that one line- and everything breaks...
so to maintain compatibility, you can bump this up to a larger number ensuring an empty line is used.

hope that helps.

That's very clear. I know understand what I have to avoid. I'll check the file, and alter the value if need be.

Thanks Flicker.

Hi, two points.

Firstly, last_login_v141_sp13.zip should not be buried in reply four of this thread, it's not easy to find, and is the current version after all.

Secondly, there are a couple of errors that even I managed to spot  Roll Eyes Grin:

The code that is added in step one does not contain closing brackets on the two comment tags, causing the Forum Preferences and Settings to be screwed up.

Edit: forgot to mention, the search line in step 13 needs to be changed to work with version 1.3.2 because of the copyright notice change.
