This mod is for people who have multiple admins but only want themselves to be able to edit the more crucial things, such as board directory, mail programme etc.
Nice little mod but my first ever.
Only very simple.
Anyway ive tried it and it works fine but i want your opinion beofre i release to general public Tongue Wink

I am currently writing a new set of admin and adminedit.pls called lesseradmin.pl and lesseradminedit.pl for "lesser admins" so the main admin still has normal access. however i have hit a snag in the defaults for the lesser admin's adminedit

How would i go about writing the script so that the lesseradminedit.pl's defaults reflected those of the regular adminedit.pl?

I have 2 other admins, and I don't want them to be able to view/change passwords for password-protected boards (I have MBCO2 installed). Will this mod do what I want (hide the "More Board/Category Options" link in the admin center for them, but have it visible to me)? Or could it easily be tampered with to do so?  Smiley

i would suggest a new admin screen, with only the functions you tick as available to them from your main admin screen, to which they get diverted from when they try to enter it - far as they know theyre in the main one, and no love lost Smiley

Id love to see this for SP 1.1

ok thanks to astropilot i have rewritten the mod so that it allows the original admin to still change the settings by adding this if statement:
Code
Select All
 if ($settings[7] eq 'Administrator' && $username eq 'admin') {

i have reuploaded the mod so you may want to redownload it.
Uploaded new mod on date modified

My new version Beta 2.1 is in progress, in fact its already 80% the only part left is repetitive filling in.
Anyway, it will:
Add another admin area for the MAIN admin.
Here the MAIN admin can set which areas of the forum preferances and settings they want all the other admins to be able to see.

This is great for people who have multiple forums with admins they don't know... like me.

BUT, i can't think how i could get this to work with other mods. They would work along side each other but you could not save the restrict admin settings if there were other mods.
Any suggestions on how to get round this?
or just leave it for clean installers?

Coming soon!
