quick question.  BHRA helped me out on this one for SP1.1...

i installed this mod with my fresh 1.2 board and would like to get rid of the little icon that it puts next to the last subject.  i tried the SP1.1 solution from BHRA but it didn't work.  any idea how i get rid of that little icon for the SP1.2 install?

thanks.

Uninstall the mod, then edit the mod file by hand:

search for:
Code
Select All
$subjecthtml = qq~$subicon <a href="$scripturl?board=$curboard;action=display;num=$lastthreadid{$curboard}$tmp_start">$subjectmain</a><br>~;

replace by:
Code
Select All
$subjecthtml = qq~<a href="$scripturl?board=$curboard;action=display;num=$lastthreadid{$curboard}$tmp_start">$subjectmain</a><br>~;

Then reinstall the mod... I did a similar thing with my board.

Having a slight hiccup with this mod, installed the mod and did a board recount as per the readme, and it does as it should do, showing the last subject, then when someone adds a new post it doesn't show, I just get the normal Yabb "Today at..." without the latest subject, if I do another board count it fixes it again, until someone else posts into that room. What have I done wrong ?

Tophouse - Did you install it manually or with BoardMod.

If installed manually, recheck all the steps again and make you you didn't forget any or made any mistakes.

Cured the problem, don't know what the problem actually was but I got a yabb backup and reapplied all my mods, then uploaded all the necessary sources files etc, all seems to work now.

Sounds like you missed one of the modified files last time you uploaded them - possible post.pl.

Is there any way to make this take you to the last post in the thread instead of the first

Not a bug... the subject had a charactor that was translated to html encoding and it got caught in the normal truncation of the subject.

Not without installing the "Goto last unread post" mod (or whatever it's called) and making some major changes to the code to get both the work together. This is a lot of work and not really something I want to get into.

To fix it, you'd have to read in message heading, convert it to standard text, truncate it, then convert it back to html code. That's two extra steps to slow down your board, just to solve a fairly minor glitch. Well, maybe it'll be fixed in the next version.

Rouen, I was wondering who you were.  Do you intend to ever post to the site Darkorical has been talking to you about?

...oh, I am the person he is building the site for... and I can't thank him enough.
